Shri Ram Chatpatta Corner, Newark

Shri Ram Chatpatta Corner is Newark is a hidden gem. Recently opened, this mom and pop Indian restaurant is run by the gentleman who made pani puris in Dana Bazar in Fremont back in the 90s and early 2000s.

❤️The owners were extremely hospitable right from the time we entered the restaurant and the owner kept checking on us every few minutes. We could constantly hear the banter between the owner and his wife in the background and we could smell and hear our orders being freshly prepared. Everything we ordered was so delicious.

👍The dahi puri, was fantastic, with mango and pomegranate in the filling.

🥞Alu paratha was excellent and came accompanied with delhi style thick raita and homemade pickles.

🍛Thali came with extra large delhi style roti and all the curries and the dal tasted sublime.

🥤Chiko milkshake which was also made to order and naturally sweet without any sugar added.

The restaurant did not pass muster from an aesthetic point of view, but just for the amazing taste of home cooked food and the warm hospitatility, I give this palce 4 SolaraStars out of 5.
